Rescroft Limited - OutStanding InSeating
Designers and Manufacturers of Passenger Vehicle Seating
Ambulance - Police - Security - Community - Passenger Transport Vehicles - Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles - Minibus Seating

Company background
Rescroft was established in 1976 in a small workshop in Redditch by current Managing Director Alan Restall and his father, Eric Restall. From the beginning the firm designed and produced quality seating for vehicles and concentrated on manufacturing the whole product from tube bending to seat trimming. In 1993 the company launched the UK's first commercially viable M2 category minibus seat range, 'Defender'. The seats are fitted with lap and diagonal belts and fully comply with current EU legislation for seat belt anchorages. The essential need to ensure compliant seat fitting has involved Rescroft engineers in many seat installations leading, in 2001, to the company's own Embus floor system. Designed by Rescroft and fitted by trained bodybuilders, the system is certified for compliance by both parties. Through continuous research and development Rescroft has a wide range of quality products supplied to Europe and extending to other countries conscious of the need to reach high standards of occupant safety in passenger vehicles. The company enjoys a sound financial position and employs approximately 100 people in two factories in Redditch. The Directors are proud of the company's success over the years and, in particular, the support it receives from its employees and suppliers.

ISOFIx
international standardised fitting system for child child seat installation Description ISOfix has been adopted by OE manufacturers worldwide and Rescroft can now offer this proven car safety system to the multi-passenger vehicle market. The main benefit of ISOfix is that the system, via its locking bar, creates a rigid link between the child seat and the vehicle. It eliminates the risk of slack installation, which is one of the key areas of misuse with child seats that rely on the use of adult seat belts. Features • Standardised fixing for simple installation
and removal - one quick movement releases the
child seat leaving the vehicle seat ready for normal use.
• Removes the risk of slack installation with
conventional adult seat belts.
• Available as an option for Defender III and
Nevis seat ranges.
• Can be used in conjunction with the Britax
Duo ISOfix child seat.
• MIRA tested to static regulation ISO 13216-1
and dynamically tested to permissible
conditions of ECE R44-03 Specific
Vehicle Approval.
• Ideal for ambulances, community vehicles,
mini-buses, etc.

Escutcheon
'All-Ages' Belt Escutcheon
In order to feed seat-belts over the shoulder at the correct height on high-back, stand-alone seating, the belt tongue and webbing usually emerge from the front, rather than the top, of the backrest. When not in use, the belt tongue rests on the front of the backrest and can sometimes be felt behind the shoulder. To overcome this problem, Rescroft have developed a completely new escutcheon that allows the belt tongue to fully retract into the depth of the backrest.
The new escutcheon is subject to a patent application and is scheduled to be available from January 2007.
